Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in this action-packed adventure that finds him crossing paths (and swords) with the enigmatic Angelica (Penélope Cruz). When she forces him aboard the "Queen Anne's Revenge," the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth. Along the way Jack must use all his wiles to deal with the barbarous Blackbeard and his crew of zombies, Angelica, the ravishing pirate with whom he shares a dubi- ous past, and the beautiful, enchanting mermaids whose masterful cunning can lure even the most seasoned sailor to his doom. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the indestructible Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack's longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid. Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth when a woman from his past (Penélope Cruz) forces him aboard the "Queen Anne's Revenge," the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane). The art of oration is dying out, and with his smile and suits, Peters is a true public speaker, the antithesis of a boring politician, says Nokise. I m fascinated by public speak- ing; it s how I got into comedy. These days we have boring politicians -- Richard Prebble was out of his mind but he really commanded the audience. After Lange faded, it was really only Winston who took up the mantle of being a good public speaker. Nokise says people are sur- prised to hear he grew up in poli- tics, with his mother having worked in the Parliamentary Counsel Office for years. I was surrounded by legislation discussions and political debate -- not your average bro house. My friends would invite me along to a party in Epuni and I d find myself talking about the latest debates between politicians, which I found riveting but the girls had no idea what I was on about. His own single foray into poli- tics was at high school where he defeated fellow St Bernard s class- mate and now-comedian Jerome Chandrahasen to become student representative. His political campaign consisted of distributing hundreds of flyers with Vote Nokise on them. Everyone in seventh form voted for Jerome because they knew I d be useless, but everyone sixth form and under was like Yeah! Nokise bombed the school with flyers! It worked. I won t be returning to politics though -- there are too many skeletons in my closet.
